Festival at Sea - Day 4

Our second port of call was La Romana, Dominican Republic. La Romana is a city on the Dominican Republic’s Caribbean coast and a gateway to nearby resort areas. Overlooking the Chavón River, Altos de Chavón is a re-created 16th-century Mediterranean village with artists' workshops.

Roneshia and I signed up for the Altos de Chavon tour. This is Roberto, our tour guide.

I forgot to get Roberto's permission to video him in the beginning so I apologize for you having to look at the back of the seat in the beginning. I did rectify that when I had the chance to get his permission. The history lesson received on Casa de Campo was quite revealing.

Pictures for your viewing pleasure.

A map of Casa de Campo.

Amphitheatre at Casa de Campo. This Amphitheatre seats 5,000 people.

A picture of the Amphitheatre from the top.

Me with Amphitheatre in the background.

Panoramic View Surrounding the Fountain of Youth.

I want some of that Fountain of Youth blessing.

The greenery is beautiful also.

Scenic Views

My Ro Ro loves to pose. She is always picture perfect.

The one thing I love about cruising is the beautiful people you meet. We met this hilarious soul on this excursion and you would have thought we had been friends all of our lives.

Of course we needed to do a little shopping for souvenirs and such. A few pictures of our wanderings while here.

This church was tucked inside of Casa de Campo. There were also restaurants as well as shops as seen earlier. What happened next at the front of this church was truly anointing and amazing.

There were a few of us standing at the door and people starting sharing stories of what they were dealing with and of healing. Then this woman just offered to pray:

Felix insisted that we take a picture with his donkey so I obliged.

These pictures were taken inside of the Gallery.

This "not so little fella" was lurking around try to find shade just like us.

This is called a Fire Tree.

Back at the the cruise terminal. Don't know who that photobomber is.

Tonight we're partying with Doug E Fresh. For us old school folks, we know this is going to be a night of beatboxing and dancing. I'm so ready. It is also white party night and I love nothing better than to see a sea of black folks dressed in white.

Let the night begin!

This is how the party got started. I must warn you that there is a lot of static as I was extremely close to the speaker. https://youtu.be/gsKBDmQoC7Y

Doug kept the party going with Let Me Clear My Throat, the Wobble and a medley of other songs. https://youtu.be/yjd0UjjKr1A

And the party goes on and on with hits like More Bounce to the Ounce, Candy and ABC. https://youtu.be/lDwEXOOMRp8

Doug E. Fresh doing his thing.

Time for a little bit of Blow the Whistle and Doug E. doing that beatboxing. Beatboxing is a form of vocal percussion primarily mimicking drum machines using one's mouth, lips, tongue and voice.https://youtu.be/RUC4NXmuoiI

Doug E. making nothing into something. https://youtu.be/ibDOkDSv_2M

Doug E. is partying just as hard as we are. That jacket had to come off.

On this next video, Doug E. is talking to: the crowd about coming to FAS 2022, those who may not know who he is, and those who don't know how to dougie. https://youtu.be/cQnCj0nzRbw

The party people singing happy 30th birthday to Festival at Sea. https://youtube.com/shorts/khwNpaJoulE

A short panoramic view of two decks of beautiful people dressed in white. I love white parties. https://youtube.com/shorts/S8O7SCZSnPw

For those who don't know, Doug E. Fresh is also know as the original human beatboxer. Here he is beatboxing and has added a harmonica.

Doug E. still jammin and playing a variety a songs. https://youtu.be/vbOQucBGKGY

It was been a long time since I have partied this hard. Doug E. says goodbye and thanks Festival at Sea for the invitation to come and celebrate 30 years. NOTE: You will need to rotate your device at nine seconds because I did. Oops https://youtu.be/aJBX8TAZ3Mo
