I decided to break away from the usual blog of cruises and casino trips and do something a little different. This blog consists mostly of videos and a few pictures from an old school concert featuring the band War.

For those who may not be familiar with the band, War was formed in Long Beach, California in 1969 and is an American funk band known for their fusion of rock, funk, jazz, Latin, rhythm and blues, and reggae. The band was especially prominent in the 1970s and are best known for their socially conscious lyrics and multi-ethnic lineup, which helped them stand out during a time of cultural and musical upheaval.
This is Lonnie Jordan (in the forefront). He is the lead singer and the only original member still touring with the band.

The videos below highlight War performing some of their all-time favorites. As you may note, most of these videos are posted on my YouTube channel. The link is listed at the end of this blog.
War performing Me & Baby Brother.
War performing Slippin Into Darkness.
A trio of short clips of more Slippin Into Darkness.
War performing Cisco Kid.
Picture of the band members.

War performing Spill the Wine and Galaxy.
War performing Summer.
War performing Low Rider.
Lonnie Jordan introduces band members and they do their thing.
A little more of that Take A Little Trip.
They thought they were done but we wanted more.

Another one of the all time favorites....Why Can't We Be Friends?
Followed by All Day Music.
And last but not least...Ballero.
Some of us needed a little something more to remember the night.

And this was just the first half of the concert. Next up - Tower of Power. Be sure to check out this blog also as it is full of videos and those horns do not disappoint.
