Santorini is part of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. The island was shaped by a massive volcanic eruption around 1600 BC, which created a large caldera and dramatic cliffs that now overlook the sea. It is one of the most iconic and romantic destinations in the world, famous for its dramatic views, whitewashed buildings, and unforgettable sunsets. You can travel the entire island in less than two hours and it hosts 15,000-20,000 locals.

Houses on the Hill
Roneshia and I both opted to do the Charming Oia Village and Winery excursion. On this excursion, we visited a well-known, quality winery and the beautiful village of Oia. Oia was beautiful and sits atop an impressive cliff with spectacular views of the Aegean Sea.
Come on the bus ride with us as we traverse the steep incline to reach the city. Here are a few pics before the video. Note in the video the narrow roads the bus driver had to navigate and the steep, tight turns.

Now we are back on the bus and headed to Oia. In this short video we hear a little bit of history on Fira. Fira is the vibrant heart of the island and is filled with nightlife, shops, and museums.

Although we took the bus up to Oia, we are taking the cable car down to the port where we will board the tender back to the Jade. Here is a photo and a few short videos of the cable car descending.

Once we got down, I took this short video of cars coming down.
And also a short video of cars going up.
Boarding the tender to head back to the Jade.

And off we go. Looking back at this beautiful island.
Once back, I was walking through the ship with my travel blogger t-shirt on. These two women happen to ask me about my t-shirt. Imagine, both friends are named Nancy and as we were chatting, they disclosed where they were from. Low and behold, we literally live within 15 minutes of each other.

Now we are off to dinner at one of my favorite dinner spots on the ship - Teppanyaki.
Let's start with the miso soup.

And the show begins.

Watching dinner being made right before our eyes.
As this trip was also a celebration of Roneshia's birthday, here is her complimentary birthday cake for dessert.

Ro Ro's Gallery - Santorini
In this section you will find a gallery of photos and one video, courtesy of my daughter, Roneshia, aka Ro Ro.
The first pic in this gallery is of the one and only.......Ro Ro. She decided to do a signature Santorini photo shoot and her pics are absolutely gorgeous. The first two are my favorites.

These are the remaining photos from her photo shoot. Which are your favorites?
Picture perfect views.
I hope you can understand why I absolutely love Santorini. I will definitely be returning to this beautiful island.
Look at the wonderful surprise that was waiting for me upon my return to the cabin. Compliments of the casino.

Below are a few night views and a couple short videos as we leave Santorini and head back to Athens.
